anyone running on gas....is it an easy set up...good/ bad,,,what do you think...I need to get infront of a 1000cc skidoo and I was thinking I could hide the bottle and play dumb :rockon:

anyone have a kit or know of kits???

I think I just answered my own question...looked at kits then read the snow tech article on bottle temperatures changing bottle pressures and flow rate....either too rich or too lean...= boom...

i have a boondocker kit and the fuel amount will change with bottle pressure. i believe there are also other kits that will have a system to keep nitrous/fuel ratio equal through out bottle pressure ranges, so no boom if your set for outside temp.

I put a Boondocker kit on a "slightly" ported '01 SRX, and it runs just fine with no problems at all. This kit goes into the airbox, much safer and less finicky albeit less horsepower than a wet system. You are right though...
Lean = BIG BOOOOOM.
Rich= Boggy. Put one on, you will like it
700 is right too. Boondocker goes through a solenoid and retains equal pressure through the bottle. No heater needed as well. The ottle fits very nice under the pipes

I am toying with going to a Boss Noss system. Slightly cheaper then boondockers and its 100% regulated so that you get the same shot over and over, boondockers will keep the AFR the same but has the bottle loses pressure you will get less and less shot.

hide it in the seat and use a carbon fiber bottle like firefighters use to hold o2 on threir backs........

Boss Noss installation

I am in the middle of installing Boss nitrous on a mm 700. Here are pics of the nitrous nozzle that injects nitrous into the throuat of the carb., the fuel deivery system c/w boot jets added and the boot jet fuel manager. I'll post pics of the nitrous delivery system when it is finished. I'm waiting on parts. Boss made a change for this season so I'm waiting for the upgrades.

That looks nice! How was the install so far? It seems like it would be cake, I think I have the instructions memorized, just waiting to pull the trigger!

So far so good, although I haven't run it yet. I had to build a brass T to splice into the Yamaha fuel line. The Boss Noss fuel feed hose is 1/4" and the Yamaha line is 1/8". Everything lese went good. The smart box is mounted (using supplied velcro) on the stock electronic box that mounts to the Yamaha air box. Last years Boss noss used a fogging nozzle that was mounted in the air box. They have decided that three seperate noss nozzles injecting liquid nitrous into the carb throats provides a more immediate response and better power to they updated the kit to include the noss injectors. I'm waiting on parts to complete the nitrous side of the install.

Wow great, that was my only question, there are 3 lines going to each carb, which one did you splice into? Any worries of that carb not getting enough fuel? I realize the line is pressurized by 3-5 psi but just curious if you think under spray with the noss control box sucking fuel if that cylinder will run a tad leaner.

A good tip to test the system is get it wired and hooked up, with the bottle empty and run it to like 3000 rpm and hold it there and hit the button, if it dies or comes close immedieatly you know the fuel aspect is working!

What are your plans for tuning when done? Does the MFM come preset so just short 2 sec burst then check plug wash, and adjust from there? Or are you starting completely in the dark. If its mega rich to start you will get a bog and then keep leaning it out from there till no more bog. This is the only part that worries me a tad.

I don't think I'm concerned about the pump no keeping up to the carb that is feeding the nitrous system. It will be hard to check since the engine will die as soon as you add fuel without nitrous. The only way to prove it would be to T in the fuel line, connect the boot jets before intalling them in the boots and run the engine with the button depressed. Honestly, I'll be amazed if this system will run the pump out of fuel. The instructions say that tuning is as simple as turning out the MFM 3 turns and hitting the button at full throttle. A bog means turn it in a bit a try again. Stop when it cleans up and check the plugs. The good news is that tuning for different altitudes and conditions should be as easy as is sounds.

I'll post some pics when I get the nitrous finsihed. I ordered some parts from CB Performance a couple of weeks ago. Ended up talking to Bruce for a while about nitrous. He really knows his stuff. If you are still shopping and comparing systems, it might make sense for you to talk to him. Hope this helps you.
