I have spent a few dollars lately and have a Boondocker dry kit and now a set of Hauck Hushers for my Viper. I am only going to keep one. I bought the nitrous kit first and planned to use it for the MPG factor, as well as the stock appearance and sound. The pipes kinda fell into my lap. I would love the full time power but not really the mpg loss and sound increase. How loud are these pipes and do they require the head or base gasket mod? I have the rear heat exchanger already. I currently run heel clickers and have them dialed in after two years and hate to start over, so I need a decent set up if anyone wants to help out. Thanks for your help.
ran srx with nitrous it fun to have that extra when needed.also nice to have all stock when just trail riding .

I'm starting to fall for the nitrous myself, seems like the best of both worlds!
The pipes are a little loud, but its a good loud. I like it, my wife and local DNR hate it. I ran about 1500 miles with stock base and head gaskets and no rear heat exchanger with out any problems. Good power but it got about 7mpg. Good luck

Pipes VS. Nitrous??
If you're going to run the pipes, and are worried about fuel mileage call Jeff at CPR and they will get you set up with the correct jetting to get about 10-12 mpg. But, you need to send them your cylinder head to have it modified first. They adjust the compression on it, and make it equal on all 3 cylinders so you can run on even cheap gas that you might get at a station out in the middle of nowhere and not worry about the detonation problem and burning your engine down. Good luck!
