I've heard differing solutions to the age old problem of excessive viberation through the handlebars from stuffing the bars with something to using spray in expanding foam(Ski Doo rider,we all know how well their warmers work).Has anyone found a solution that offers any real relief?I've actually thought of doing the spray foam thing to try it but that's kind of a permanant solution, once that stuff is in there it's there to stay.If memory serves me correct somebody had a rubber insert you could put in for vibe reduction but I haven't seen any adds lately for this. What if anything have people been using? Thanks

you can try your foam thing, or fix it completely. you can buy an iso-vibe or other similar bar risers (like an inch or so, no biggy) which have are to eliminate the vibe, also gel grips that are thicker than stock should help do the trick as well.

There is a product called Iso-Vibe that might interest you.
Sorry guys it's an SRX 700 and I've seen the iso vibe risers and wondered if the work as advertised.I have a Rox riser now but I'm still getting that annoying numbing of my right hand from time to time.

I am suprised you are getting that much vibration from that sled. has it been like that from day 1? wonderign if a bad motor mount or some other problem maybe?

it may not be the vibration. one, it could be your gripin the bar pretty tight or leaning on your hand and hitting the groove that runs between butt of your palm. try extra padded gloves or mechanix gloves that have padding all around but a slot left open for that groove. i forget the name, but excessive pressure and such on this area leads to carpol tunel (sp?) or, it just may be the fatigue issued by the throttle (which is what i am willing to bet) you may try a longer throw throttle to increase the leverage and reduce the force needed or try flip it over and use it as a finger throttle. i don't think srx's have that bad of vibrations, but thats my opinion...

good call about throttle thumb or over gripping. I noticed that after I put on the billet aluminum handlebar ends that it was a lot better on long trips. something for the butt of my hand to rest on in the corners. just feels good

amen to that, i was surprised how much those stupid and expensive little handlebar ends made a difference, i really like them

i have used the isovibe on my sled and i will have them on every sled, not only for the vibration dampening but for the shock absorbsion. now when i come down on the front end i dont get my rists jambed, the bars move. worth every penny.
they have two versions, one goes in between the bars like i have. a friend has the logs that go in the bar ends and loves those as well for the vibration dampening.

Just curious to what year SRX it is? My SRX doesnt vibrate at all (not noticeable) I did however ride a 98 srx that didnt have the crank fixed and that thing would kill your arms.
It's a 98 SRX and Scott mentioned the iso vibe slugs that go into the ends of the bars;that's the product I remembered seeing but could'nt recall the name, thanks.Where can I buy these?
i think the company is in maine, called grip and rip racing
the bar end ones will work on the srx but not the one like i have unless you use a bar riser. it will hit on the coul, it just clears on a viper and increases height by 2in

have you had the crank trued and fixed?
The engine in the sled now isn't the original but it has the marks on the cases where the recall has been done so I'm assuming everything is trued and good to go.After looking at the replies I tend to think that my problem may just be the way I'm hanging onto the bars either too tight or just at the wrong angle. Thanks guys.
also check the drive shaft, they had a few that warp, then break.

I have used 1/2 inch concrete anchors (made out of lead and use a lag bolt) and bolts inside handlebars before with success. This was on a moped. I'm thinking there is something wrong with your SRX if you feel that much vibration. Crank OK?

There are handlebar inserts made for motorcycle use to dampen vibration. You might find them or more info by doing a search.
Got in touch with Grip N Rip but they are currently out of stock of the bar inserts. When I get the sled out of storage I'm going to have the crank runout checked again to make sure it's not out.Mabey I'm looking for a problem that isn't there;everything could very well be ok but as stated above it may be in the way I hold onto the bars. With any luck at all I'll find out soon.
