Has anyone tried aftermarket filters or a cold air kit? Do they even work that good? Which works better? Is it worth the $200 you would spend for 3 filters with the snow covers? Or is it worth the $100 for the cold air kit? Are there noticable gains?

Don,t do the cold air kit. Makes more noise & uses more fuel. Jetting becomes finicky too. Been der dun dat on my 99 600 srx...never again.Same thing with the aftermarket filters.

I disagree, (just my opinion) the more air and fuel you put through an engine the more HP you can make, and the colder more dense the air you put in, the more fuel you can put in and again make more HP, You can get alternatives for the filters, I made my own cold air kit with scrounged filter parts and some modifying, but you are right it will make the engine sound louder.....but you will make more HP, all depends what you rather.
