I want to get a gram scale, but don't want to spend 100 bucks. What's the cheapest scale out there that will still do an accurate job? I'm weighing heelclicker weights.

any scale that will weigh down to a 1/10th of a gram would be good for what you will need.

this would do the job.

are the calibration weights really necessary with these scales on ebay? You have to buy them seperately, so that made me wonder...

calibration
Just use a dollar bill. It weights exactly 1 gram. That will tell you if it's off or not. In all reality you should calibrate it with a heavier weight cell, but a dollar will give you a quick check. Hope this helps. Chad.
P.S. I know someone is thinking it so I'll say it. YES a twenty dollar bill still only weights 1 gram. LOL

just go to your local hardware store and weigh a few things(they usually have a really good digital scale) till you find something around 50 grams, buy it then keep that as a calibration weight for yourself. just make sure you put up the weight afterwards so it dont get damaged and loose weight.
you got a smokin deal on that scale.

Never tried the dollar, but a nickel weighs exactly 5 grams.
