Studing the 03 stock Viper and I need some information on what you used, 144, liked, worked or did not last? Run them down center or normal pattern? Stainless or steel and brand? I ride in Michigan lower and UP area on TRAILS. I hope to pick them up at the Expo in Novi, MI. Thanks for all the feedback.

i really liked the max extream studs for the money with the plastic round backers . I dont run studs anymore either but i felt they were a graet bang for your buck ...you can get them at the novi show from rich motor sports ..

-120 down the center
-Saber S/S w/ carbide tip (BEFORE ACCORD RACING TOOK SABER OVER)
-square plastic backers
-1 full season on them (approx 1500mi), no bends or breaks, no tear-outs, (I don't baby them either)
-would consider going 144 if I ran 1" track again,
-happy with results

96 or 120 are great for added safety on trails. If I go with 1.25" track I will start with 96 studs down the center

I always use 192, on the outside and inside. I have always used all single backers, and the only tear outs that have ever occured was when i let a friend borrow my sled, came back with two tear outs and a torn up heat exchanger. Tears obviously depend mostly on how it is ridden (spinning the track, especially from a dead stop when racing, you are slower when spinning anyway than if you ease on it without spinning), and the types of conditions you ride in. I have 5,600 miles on 192 woody's in my '01 SX 700R, and none are missing, bent, or broken, and no tear outs. This same sled is also on the FACTORY set of hyfax, no $hit. I will be studding the srx this weekend with 192 Roetin Hornets, heard good things about them from many sources. Will be using a single/double pattern, with half of tehe studs in doubles (48 backers) and half in singles (96 backers), including the outside belts. If you like to spin your track like half the morons out there across roads and coming out of every corner, i wouldn't recommend studding the outside belts, but i have always had good luck and will continue to stud them.

I am installing 144 in the center in a couple of weeks (as soon as I can find the time.) 1.075" on the stock 03 track. I wish I could get the hacksaw in the predrilled version but it's just not in the budget I am tryig to pay my house off in 5 years, realy puts the crunch on your cash flow.
