just wondering who has to trailer their sleds to ride or they can just pull out of the garage and ride. i live in an area where the only trails are the ones that local riders make.(no grooming) ex. trails through fields, creeks, rivers, roadsides, etc. i just cross the road and there is a trail and some times we just make our own trails.

where I live (alton NH) there are nice groomed trails, but hardly ever enough snow anymore. the family has a house up north (pittsburg NH) that has a lot of snow and a lot of logging roads that are highly groomed. we keep the sleds up there in the garage and pull them out and go :)

well i have it pretty rough. the groomed trail is about 20 feet from my drive way. the only problem is that damm groomer keeps driving by. haha jk. theres nothing better than seeing the groomer go by the nigh before your going sleddin.

whenever i go to ride the trails it takes me half an hour drive to get to the trials, but prefer to travel at least 4 hours to get to barrie or huntsville. hate the trials that are on the fields!( BARE SPOTS CAUSE THE WIND) ,most of my riding is done around north bay, ontario, a 6 hour trip from london, but well worth it!

cheers

i used to be able to drive down the end of my street and jump on an unused RR track which hooks up to all the ITS trails, but the Portland water district put up a fence (this past summer) along the section of tracks we use to access it :D:DP :o| #$%&* -- this REALLY pissed off me and four other families on my street who also snowmobile. our only other choices are to trailer them, or ride em 1/2 mile on TAR to get around the fence!

I live on a lake and access the trail system by riding across it, when we have snow down here. Seeing how we only have about 2 weeks of riding if we are lucky, I usually tow 250 miles north to the Northwoods. ( Presque Asle area )

yea i am in the same boat as n2oiroc and crazysledder, we have an awesome trail system down here but never any snow to ride on them, haven't rode in wisconsin on trails for the past two seasons, always trailer up to houghton, baraga, or muni.

i can usually leave right from my house, i live close to the bay of green bay, and as long as i stay somewhat close to shore, i can connect with 2 different trail systems. but like almost everywhere else thier's always little to no snow. so then i have to trailer 2-hours to the north.

I have trails right behind my house(niagara county ny) that i can get on and go anywhere but i mostly trailer down to the southern tier and ride.(erie county).

I live in ontario but I am right on the border. We usually drive 10 mins south because the trails in Minnesota are so much better than here in Ontario. I trailer if I ride with my family but when I go with my friends i just drive to the trails on my sled by taking roads. We are allowed to ride sleds on the roads as long as we go straight to the trails because it is a town of only 8000 ppl.

i just have to go across the road jump on the RR tracks for about a mile then im on groomed trails. but, its sucks when the RR plows along the tracks

The ditches are my trails....we don't have any trails within 100 miles. I have never rode on any of the trails east of the Missouri River...only in the Black Hills. All I have to do is drive the sled out of the garage and choose a ditch! :P It gets rough with the old "no-action" suspension but ditches are more fun that trails for the most part IMO.

I keep my sled at my parents' house in St Germain, WI. The trail is about 1 mile away from their doorstep.
I just hop on my sled, behave myself the 1 mile of road I have to ride on to get to the trail and then its balls out.
