I have a 2000 SRX trying to long travel. If you can fit viper shocks which are 17" how come I'm having so much trouble with shocks that are 17.5". I'm not even close is there any tricks to it. I have longer radius rods and spacers for sway bars and longer tie rods. Why am i still 3 inches from fitting them in. I can get pic but it would be tomorrow. Any input would help me. :o|

I guess I don't understand "long of it down". The hole in the bracket that the shock mounts too should be on the top. If you look at the bracket as an "L", the "L" will be upside down. If your control arms are the right length then I don't know what would be wrong. Your control arms are what attaches to the bulk head and runs to the trailing arm. I know in my max performance kit I put on last year, all of the front end rods where longer, and that allowed the longer shock to move into place fairly easily. Make sure your bracket is right. If it is the factory bracket, it can only go on one way without grinding off some metal for it to fit properly.

if you have 17.5 shocks and they are both eye ends and you are trying to bolt them in the stock mounts they wont fit correctly.

viper/vmax/sxr shocks are 17in but are clevis style at the top and are made to bolt to a different bulkhead, viper/sx/vmax style.

this mounting postition is about 2in higher in the sled.

Yes the mount is in correctly. The shocks are out of a M6 Zero pros. Does anybody know the longs shocks with both eyes I could put in the front end. Looks like maybe 15".
