How can I keep from getting my coated pipes scraped up

I have triple ceramic coated (chrome look) pipes on my 2002 MMax and when I close the hood the cable rubs on the pipes ruining the look of them, what Can I do? any ideas???

Hey guys, I tried to move the holdown from the center pipe over to my upper left hand shock mount and put the spring over there too, it's better but still not purfect........What did you Mountain Max guys do with your ceramic coated pipes. I have one almost ruined (to look at) , I'm gonna have to get it recoated next summer.

Same thing started to happen to mine, removed the stock front hinges and hood to pipe strap and threw on an extra set of hood latches. Re-routed the wiring harness quick couples to the top of airbox (i don't run stock speedo).

Now I can chuck the hood off in bout 2 seconds. No more rubbin.
