Today I got my srx 600 stuck in a big mound of snow and the front of the sled was almost pointing straight up. I look at the pyro egt gauge and it was reading like 1438 and it was 1/4 throttle trying to get out. Earlier in the day about 15 mins before I held it a full throttle for about a mile and it read 1180. I ended up pulling it out and it was reading like 1100-1200 at idle. i shut it off and about an hour later and rode it again. the performance was the same as usual but the guages were reading 200-300 degrees too high still. For example after i got stuck at 30-40 mph the guages read 900-1000. Before at 70-80 mph they read 900-1000. Any ideas? I really want to get this fixed. any help would be appreciated

is it possible that you were riding in extremely cold conditions? are you running high octane? sometime low octane can bring them up a little. check and make sure the air box filter isn't pluged up with ice or snow. let me know if any of these help at all. you running the same plugs right?

same plugs, 25 degrees F, and 93 octane. I'll check the filter because it was snowing and there was some deep snow too.

High egt
Could it be possible you are running a little lean in low to mid range of the carbs fuel delievery? Maybe the needles are a little low? My center cylinder runs about 1250 at cruising 40mph and the rest are in low 1100 range. I just raised the needle this weekend a half notch. I'm going up another 1/2 and trying it again. I don't know your setup but an egt will read a degree high for every degree higher than the calibrated temperature of the leads. So if the pyros leads end under the hood than you might have increased the underhood temperature while you were stuck. But 200 degrees sounds like a lot.

I screwed up that last comment
The gage will read high for every degree under the calibration point.
