would there be anything wrong with chroming carburetors? of course i would de-assemble and take all the stuff out and just the bowl and top and none of the needles or stuff. but would the gas affect the chromes adherance over time? just curious, thanks!!!

I don't think so but let us know how it worked out for you. I painted the tops of my carbs red and it's still the same red 4 years later. I would think a good chrom job would last longer than paint. My only concern would be that they did not chrome the inside of the carb, if they did I hope it was bored a little over first. Or, get them chromed and have them bored a tiny bit later. Gas would not effect the chrome at all. Doug

only thing I can think of is the higher specific heat capacity of chrome, and how that'd effect your fuel charge temperature, plus your overall underhood heat, never experimented with it tho, so I really don't know. strikes me as abit of a waste of time/money tho
