What does the clip/shim thing all about on the jets in the carbs? Does the different positions richen or lean out the system with small increments then the jet sizes? Thanks
The clip/needle adjustment is for 1/4 to 3/4 throttle tuning. Jet size effect's 3/4 to full throttle. Rising the clip drops the needle, leaning out the mixture. Lowering the clip will raise the needle and rich'n the mixture. The little white shims are for "1/2 clip" adjustments for fine tuning. They can be both on top or bottom of the clip. Or you can have one on each side of the clip.
This mid-range tuning can be helpfull when trying to correct a lean bog or rich burble condition.
