My friend has an 02 and I have an 01 and we both have this issue on cold days. The brake sticks on. When you apply the brake then let off to accelerate out of a turn the brake does not release. This only happens on cold days. If your not paying attention it can be several sled lengths before you notice and the brake is red hot and your belt is smokin.
Any one have any ideas as to what is happening?

there could be moisture in the brake fluid that freezes at the master cylinder not allowing fluid return. try flushing the fluid and see what happens. it should be changed every couple of years anyway.

Also, check to see that the lever itslef isn't sticking, I've had that problem on the old polaris wedge chassis. If that is you problem, take your lever oof and lubricate with a light oil, or even a dry lube, at the pivot point.
