Can someone please help? I have a 86 Phazer and I am replacing the starter rope. How long of a piece of rope do I need to cut?

is it broken already? if not pull the rope all the way out clamp the recoil so it does not wind back up, get needle nose pliers pull the inner knot out then cut the rope (disgard) thread in new rope tie not release clamp let it roll up then cut the end longer to get through your bulk head out to where your handel is, install handle, Done!
