do not remove the oil pump.it is feeding oil to the middle of the crank and the bearings for the water pump.

just do this
For 500ft its not a problem if you are running a good oil, you dont need the pump. When I ran my srx on asphalt(1/4 mile plus the return road back), I used the following set up and premixed the gas, I left the oilpump on the sled, unhooked the cable and looped the supply and feed lines, in line was a motorcycle master cyl resivor off a newer crotch rocket, it held about 2-3 ozs of oil, it was good for all night of racing, would use less then half of its capacity, I then just refilled it every week and never had any bearing problems on the waterpump. what this does is supply just a tad of oil cause the pump thinks its idling, and this feeds the bearings and drive gears, very slight amount to main bearings, whats not used is recirculated back into resivor and done all over again. I may still have the set up left out in the shop.

no problem removing oil pump if your only going to race sled. took the pump off my IS700srx & ran for 3 seasons ( 9750 rpm ) that way in north bay - 2000' radar runs. undefeated & record holder - 135.2 mph IS700.
simple to do. remove oil cable & pump. make aluminum cover to go over opening where pump was. drill hole in cover & press in & red locktite brass fitting in. run oil line up from fitting to cylinder head coolant rail & cable tie to rail. fill line with oil once every race day. put cap on line & go racing.

thanks.
i have run so many classes i get tired thinking about it, however stock 700 was not one of them.
just find a smooth lake, mark off 2000', get a radar gun or gps & do it. then you will know.

I did this to my 97 Cat 440. I rigged a 4 oz hamster bottle and line to the fitting on the bottom of the engine cases. My motor will "use" this amount of oil in about 300 miles of trail riding. So far it works great and I've had no problems with it. Somehow I have to figure the crank bearings love it too if it's being used up like that. I burn half the oil I did with the injection system now too so thats a plus for me as well.
I hate oil injection and I will rig every sled I buy for premix from now on.

So Eric after you get this done what fuel oil ratio are you going to run pre mix? Have you decided on an oil brand?
Scott Ratio Depends On What Oil I Go With. Thinking About Skidoo Xp-s. Any Input Would Be Great.
