My buddy has one of these older sleds and it has alot of miles on it.
anyway! The engine will only hold 7,000 rpms.
Would like to know what rpms it should be at for peak h/p?
Also when hitting the throttle hard from a dead stop it will barely spin the track....
The engine seems to run great though!!
This sled has stock clutching with a new secondary spring and new helix...But the primary has never been touched...
Does anyone know what holes the secondary spring should be set at and if maybe it sounds like a primary problem or something else.....Thanks!!!

7800 rpm is peak but most likely the center bushing is worn and some others parts, rollers.....etc...if its not working properly down low...but dirty carbs and a bad belt can hurt the performance as well.

sec spring should have a pink mark if it's stock. Take your pick between A2 and B2, both were stock settings. Do A first, run, then go to B. Primary should start w/ 8ay weights, white yellow white spring, 15mm rollers, if you have access to a 87x belt, this is a softer compound and hooks well but life is shorter than 89l. hopes this helps
