I have a stock 99 SX600 which is pulling 9400rpm from start to top end. What is the best way to bring that back down, weights or a new primary spring? The stock rivets are 2.4gm and 3.6gm. Can I add enough weight to drop 1100rpm? If I need a new primary spring, what rate should I reduce it to, stock rate is 2.5, would 2.0 be to low?

I want to ride this weekend but I'm afraid I might smoke the engine. ANy help would be appreciated. THanks

Load the weights with 4.5 gram rivets & try a new belt. If centre to centre is short it will also overrev.
