I have had my sled apart for a couple of months now. While it has been apart the fuel pump has been seeping out oil. I am now ready to put it back together and can't seem to get it to pump gas. Here's what I have done... pulled over and it pumps oil...no gas... Took line off pump coming from tank and it is dry. Pressurized tank and gas comes out of the line...put the line back on the pump and pulled over.. still just oil. Took line off pump again and had another person put finger over inlet and pulled sled over... doesn't seem to be "sucking" Although.. I don't know if it would suck enough to fill it. It ran fine before I took the carbs off. My dad had a SRX that he had to pressurize the tank every fal to get it to pump gas again for the first time of the year...he never had problems with it throughout the winter.. Almost like it needed to be primed. I am considering buying a used pump, or just buying a new one... My sled has 8,500 miles so I am thinking a new one might not be a bad idea anyway. Anyone know if they make re-build kits? I remember doing that on an old Phazer.

just take the pump apart and see which petal was stuck.. A lot of times you can put it back together and it will work fine... its the 10% alcohol in the gas nowdays that just KILLS the rubber petals!!! Gary Oles nosboy

try this, it will help

If the sled sat with the back up in the air ,for like rear suspension work, then the pump is filled with oil, there is a 1 way valve in the oil line and this does not let oil go back to tank, only to the engine. For some reason they do this if suspended for a extended time.

The easiest way to solve the problem is simply, remove the fuel lines from carbs, put a rag and air nozzle on the gastank, blow a slight amount of air into tank and it will come out the pump, washing the oil out, it will then start up and run. It might be rich at first but it will clean out.
