I noticed I have one loose trailing arm mount. I have read before this was common on my 97 700SX. Was there any trick to the Yamaha fix, or just drill the rivets out and replace with some good steel ones? Looks like a bit of a PITA to get at some of them.
Anyone, anyone?

I drilled out the rivits and replaced them with bolts and nyloc nuts.

Yes there is a rivet kit from Yamaha, I used SS smooth top allen head bolts & nuts with the nylon in them.

I added the 'Bender' trailing arm brace kit to both my trailing arm machines. Yea, it was a bit of work, but really stiffened that area up while providing a solid area for the trailing arm. The kit included the allen head bolts and nylocs, along with rivets.

Same here, the long bracing plates make a big difference.
