um......oh...ah.... its great oil.
I dont know the technical details of the oil but have heard from guys who race and run hard and some guys that spend all their time tweeking and they love the stuff. The engine parts stay nice and clean with this oil.
It is very popular in Eastern Canada.

Whats this thing about adjusting the oil cable when going fully synthetic? True with Ipone, I'm looking forward to riding with a no smell oil to keep the peace between my 4 stroke riders

you supposedly can run less oil with a synthetic. i just keep mine at the stock setting. more oil is good for the crank and i believe good oil in reasonable amounts helps keep the valves clean. i think gas is the biggest thing that dirties up valves.

Exactly as David said, they tell you that you can adjust your oil pump to a lower setting with synthetic oil simply because it is better oil. I usually shoot for 150 miles to a quart on good synthetic oil

run it at the stock setting first and then watch your consumption. if it uses more than 1 quart in less than 125 miles (during normal trail riding!), then adjust the oil pump cable for lower consumption. dont do lake runs for oil consumption tests or you will be real lean on oil!2001SRX=Fast said:So what do i have to adjust when i run this ipone stuff or can i just leave it at stock settings and put it right in?

I used IPONE late last year. The smell is great & it certainly kept and did keep my valves cleaner than that Yamilube. Yamilube is great for Non power valve sleds.Try it,its good stuff.

yea because they want to push yamalube? What is ONE good reason not to use synthetic oil? Especially on srx's and vipers, where the intake side of the skirts and cylinders seem to wear more than on other yamaha engines. A good reason not to use better technology, better oils?

hum...kinda strange when my dealer said they use nothing but IPONE in their own demo sleds. The do not even put a drop of yamylube and go to the good stuff right away
