my center powervalve is is leaking from the black little endpiece where the cable comes out of the powervalve, right in between the outer metal piece that covers the valve and the piece where the cable comes out. It is not leaking all that bad, I just noticed some platter on the center head and where it came from, there is oil around it, not leaking but there. Also i broke my pull cord, about 6 inches lost, should I get a new one or re-tie it? I have to take the rewind apart I guess because the cord went down the hole. any help would be appreciated.

For the pull cord, I would just install a new one. The old cord could be getting worn.

Two things you can do,
Clean the "leaky" power valve and seal.
Replace the power valve 'O' ring.

there are several o rings and seals and a couple of gaskets... check the on line microfische, order enough parts for all 3 pv's Max Perf. has power valve testers for around 25 bucks compare this to your local Yam. shop's hourly rate. once you install new seals, you need to readjust...normall situation takes about .5 hours shop time for adjustment
