Hi, I discovered that my newly aquired srx has a couple of dents that have been straightened out in the rear frame, nothing serious but still annoying. I don't think they have anything to say on performance or handling of the sled, but I'm considering changing it with time for cosmetical reasons. So what's involved in replacing this, you obviously need new frame, new decals, what else? If possible, a complete parts list. How many labour hours?

I just finished doing this to an 2001 srx and it really is'nt to bad...i would suggest that you buy a good air chisel for rivet removal and a good air rivet gun to replace them. The only rivets that you need to get from Yamaha are the 1/4 in. ones for the trailing arm brakets the rest get at a hardware store or you will spend alot more from Yamaha.Take your time and take some pics of hose routing etc...It took me about 8-10 hours from start to finish and I really took my time so I did'nt have to do anything over...Good Luck

the yamaha rivets seem to be a lot stronger than the ones from a hardware store though, and they are a different alloying to resist rusting, but not austentic or martenistic stainless.

I'm not going to try that myself.. But what did you need, frame, decals and a lot of rivets, anything else?
