my gauge is shutting off at low rpms(1800) and when im going and change the high/low beam it shuts off and starts again.
anyone know whats happening? I already changed the relay.

yep, very standard on vipers. The main wiring harness that runs under the motor has worn through. You need to pull it out and retape everything. Even put some plastic or something a little tougher over it. In 10,000 miles I had to do mine twice.

How do you best get these wires pulled out to check? Mine look very secure and don't seem to wiggle. Thanks

Unplug the harness up in front of the clutch. Then just open up those bendable harness holders and pull the wire harness up by the coolant reservoir behind the motor. Don't pull it all the way through as you don't want to have to thread it under the motor again. Like they said tape it up good and protect it best you can. May have to do it again at some point, but it isn't too bad.

on mine, that harness in front of the clutches... look real good, i had the one wire loose, i pushed it back in, and bent it out with a punch, and no problems since...

still never found the problem.
also the lights are dim along with the gauge with less rpms if i rev the motor up the lights and dash go brighter. if i touch the brake everything goes dimmer again. could this be my regulator assembly? is there anyway to see if it is for sure? i dont want to buy a regulator if thats not what it is since its elec. and cant be returned.

Its pretty normal for the headlight and gauges to not light up as brightly at idle. Every sled Ive ever owned did that.
