where do they find these machanics nowadays. i brought my sled to the shop today and i gave them a piece of paper with my current jetting specs. and they asked me why i would change them. i told them i put a bender cold air kit on. and they said why would you do that. then i told them it had a bender clutch kit. and they said why would you put a clutch kit on.then the n itpold the guy it had a midrange burble. he told me its because i didnt have the carb warmers on. ive had the sled for years and never used them. never had a problem. the sleds i had before this didnt even have them. they didnt have no midrange burble. there all idiots. its very hard to find a good machanic nowadays. i sick of blowing my money and getting the sled back the same way it was when i brought it there.

Now you see why I do all of my own work, unless there is a warranty issue. Even then I try to do it myself. Everytime I let someone else work on it, I find myself going back through everything they touched checking for problems.
These machines are not very complicated, and if you are mechanically inclined at all you can figure everything on them out quite easily. I do realize the problem for many is the TIME thing. It really should be more of an issue for me, but I allow my wrenching to intrude on many other things that my wife feels are more important. Oh well, they just don't understand.

gripper,
Don't know if it will help but I am running 150, 147.5, 147.5 in my 98SRX 600 after putting on the bender cold air kit. I also have the bender clutch setup and a bender can. Of course all of this is irrelovent if your at a different alitude or have the SRX 700. I am setup for sea level. Hope this helps

i agree.... i had an experience with my quad took it to a dealer to just get a new starter (wich i could have changed in 5 min myself but it was under warranty) besides waiting forever to get it back (like 3 wks) during fall riding one of the best times to ride ....anyway i get it back and like my neutral light doesnt work its all f*#ked up and when i asked the guy why hes was like i dont know maybe its the neutral switch relay i was like dude it was working before he was like i dont know needless to say it was the neutral switch relay and a cost of like $25 bucks to me ....it really does make you leary of people and places thats why i try to do everything myself as well ..i figure well if i dont know i will have to learn .....when i put on my skid plate on my sxr i never even entertained the thought of anyone else putting it on because it probably would have went on crooked or some idiot would have scratched the s*@t out of my hood ......just my 2 cents you can take it or leave it
