Hi to make a long story short I have a fully modded 700mm.The slide cutaway is 3.5 and a very large pilot jet is needed to get the lean bog out of her.I have noticed the srx has a slide cutaway of 2.5 and runs a small pilot jet.My sled is now like a M1 tank on fuel and the silde cutaway affects the first 1/4 throttle.I am just trying to gain some fuel milage back and I am willing to loose a couple of horse power for it.Mods include porting, pipes bored carbs, boost bottle etc. Please give my your thoughts people.

I went the same route as you, except for the bored carbs. Used individual K+N filters. Loved the intake noise but could not get the low end bog out of it. Tried everyting possible and finally went back to the stock air box and the low end bog disappeared. Added an atacc with remote fuel screw adjusters and ended up with the tuning and consistency in tuning that I chased all those years. Hope this helps you.

thanks for the reply,I have the slides changed out now so when I get a chance I will try then but now I have to go to work for awhile to pay for my addiction. If someone else has done this please do respond. It is my thinking yamaha put smaller slide cutaway's in the srx to dee tune the machine as well as to make it easier on fuel.
