Stator going bad

I was having a real problem with having to change the plugs after only about 40 miles of riding. The sled ran great, but as soon as I shut it off, no way would it re-start unless I changed the plugs. First time in to the shop they said I had wrong jets and was fouling the plugs. Though that didn't fix it and another trip and now they say the stator is going and doesn't generate enough spark to fire the slightly used plugs. Anybody know or had this happen and what is reasonable price to pay to fix.

When i had the problem that you are describing it was only my plug caps. I did end up replacing the stator later on though. Find out the ohm reading that your plug caps are supposed to be (I forget) then measure yours.... mine were so far off it was amazing.

Mine would not start after i shut it off when it was hot. Untill i replaced the plug caps. then later on in the season it started running bad and it would eventually start back firing on radom cyclinders. Replaced the stater and good to go.

Check the plug caps first, they are cheap. Then do the stator.
