I have an 03 viper mountain witha single bender pipe and can, I would like to know what would be the best setup for aftermarket clutching. I am looking at purchasing a clutch kit and was wondering if any of you have bought and used any that you could elaborate on. I was told the heelclicker hammertime was nota good choice for yamaha sleds due to failure. Please any information you could give me would be appreciated

You could probably get better help if you posted at what elevation you will mainly be riding at & how the sled performs right now in your conditions.

I would never buy a clutch kit, with a little knowledge and experience you can get the clutches dialed in well using Yamaha or other brand parts cheaper than a kit will cost. And half the time the kits don't work out that well.
When posting a question like this the more info you can give the better, we have your elevation now of 0-3000 ft. But it would be helpful to know what you have in there now. Was the clutch setup by the dealer for your elevation, because Yamaha mountain sleds come from the factory with the clutching set up for 8-10,000 ft and the jetting set up for sea level. So the dealer is supposed to set it up for the elevations of his customers, but some don't unless you pay a lot extra for setup. And some customers like me, don't want them to set it up, I do my own setups and don't like to pay for something I am going to change anyway.
Things helpful to know for answers to question:
spring colors (primary and secondary)
rivets
is helix stock 45*
secondary twist angle
enagagement rpm
shift rpm
How do you feel the shift is (upshift and backshift)
What do you think needs improvement (upshift, backshift, better hit on the bottom, etc.)
What kind of riding do you do, mostly trails, a little off-trail, or serious climbing.
Remember what works in the deep doesn't work perfect on the trail, for the trail you would want great upshift, but in the deep backshift is more important. So everything is a trade off if you want both.
