would that chasis work for a regular vmax? I thought the V4s were a bit longer than the traditional Vmax 500 and 600s. About how much weight would that chasis save over the chasis of the Vmax 600?

honestly not totally sure, just always wondered about it and then there it was lol! I would assume a bit of weight would be dropped for the aluminum over the steel. o, and I am jealous of you having a 97. saw it in your sig, I want one!!! lol! does your 800 measure longer than your 600?

I'm not sure about the frame, but with the body panels on the 800 is longer, the hood on the 800 is longer than that on the 600, everything else from the handle bars back I believe is the same length. I got the 97 800 last december, didn't really ride it at all last winter since we didn't have much snow at all, but I'm gettin real ancy to get some seat time on the 800 this year. It took me forever to find a 97 though, I almost settled for the 96 and then found the 97 at the last minute, and it was practically right in my back yard! Only 1500 miles on it and quad pipes (going to get ceramic coating soon). Should be a fun sled.
