I have the dealer part for my 97 V Max. The collar is 27 mm long. I found a a comparable bearing at my bearing supplier (for work) but the collar is 28.2mm long. The bearing dimensions are identical to the dealer part, only the collar length is different. Will this 1.2 mm make a difference when installed?? Seems to me that it will simply hold more of the shaft. Anyone know if this will matter?????
A can get them for $18 each.
My guy is also looking into getting the same part as the dealer (it's not a normally stocked part for him). Price would also be $18.
Anyone interested in one of these let me know and I'll send em out to you for $20 ($2 to cover shipping in the lower 4

that should fit fine, still plenty of space to the outside driver

Kinda what we thought.... 1.2 mm isn't much really. Do the set screws go into a slot or hole on the shaft? My thought is that if the set screws on the longer collar are in a different place.... could put them on the wrong place of the shaft.

There is no hole or slot on the shaft. Just put a dab of removable locktight on the set screw and you'll be good to go.

Yea the shaft is smooth, no grooves (except the ones left from where the screws were before). It will be fine if they aren't in the same spot. Crank them down good.

Now my bearing guy tells me that the slightly longer collar bearing is on backorder from Fafner... and he can't get me on till mid-late December! Guess I'm going with the dealer part.
