Took my valves out and cleaned them today and couldn't figure out why this one valve (pto) has scribe marks in it. The block looks good but it if you look on the rounded part of the valve it has perfect lines in it. And the flat has some wear also. Any ideas what might have caused this?

looks like wear to me from sliding in and out of the valve housing.

It seems that the rounded sides are like that from the factory cause the coating is not worn off.Hard to get a good pic cause of the close up.Flash makes it look like new metal showing. Other 2 looked great. Posted on the wanted adds for a new one. I'll try and get some better pic's.

I dont realy see why you need to replace it, I'd just sand it some.
Its probably aluminum from the cylinder you seeing, more than steel being skuffed.

Those are in pretty good shape. The functional parts are the cable slot and the curvature on the end of the valve. As long as it slides freely, and the seal is good it should function fine.
