I'm running with Turks setup 53/43 helix, grn spring at 60 as well I put on the inch and a quarter ripsaw. I added 4.5 in the stock weights because I was overreving. I found my RPMS were still a little high 8700-8900. It was the end of the year so I ran out of time to try other setups for the RPMS. The new season is coming and I'm going to put a 21t gear in. As a result im assuming that the RPMS will jump up even more with this combo Should I look at changing the weights or rollers in the primary to get the right setup?? Anybody have suggestions for me Thanks

you have the 53/43, green spring at 60, and 4.5g rivets and you are overreving by THAT much? Wow, you must have got one with tight tolerances. You aren't going to be able to do much more with those weights, gonna have to go to a different set such as 8DN-20's (work great). You will still be able to use the secondary the way it is. Try 8DN-20's with stock rivets and see where that puts you. May have to add or subtract a little bit to fine tune, but it will be close.

I was thinking of the 8dn20's I have 6500 miles on the primary think i should put in new rollers etc? Will the 21 tooth make that much of a difference in RPMS and bottom end??

Yea im sure it is time for new rollers, cover bushing, spider bushing, helix bushing, primary spring, rollers, and maybe pins. Inspect everything GOOD to check the condtion, excessive play, and binding. Also give the clutches a good roughing with some fine sandpaper or a scotch brite pad, and wash good with HOT soapy water. The 21 tooth will raise your rpms some through the shift. What is the reason you are dropping teeth? Stock viper gearing is good for most general conditions.

I read on the site that the 21 gave you more snap off the line

well yes lowering the gear ratio will you give you more snap on the bottom, but it will also be easier to overrev on top end, just something to watch for. Your top end will also decrease some going to the 21, not sure if that matters to you or not.

It matters I just found last year the sled was sluggish off the start, maybe I'll start with the primary rebuild and the 8dns, as well as making sure of the clutch allignment

Change the inner rivet to a 4.5 gram & it will bring your rpm,s down a lot closer.

yes because the outer is a 4.5g stock. You are going to have to with different weights with more weight to get those r's down.
