Just purchased a MBRP can for my 03 Viper, any jetting changes required on installation?

I've run them on alot of SRX's over the years and never re-jetted - you should be fine

yup your jetting will be fine, it doesn't lean it out much if at all, just loses some weight and sounds better.

I had an MBRP cna then switched to a Bneder can on my SX without jetting changes.

dont be suprised though if it wants to under rev a little. kirkswim had that problem with his and had to put stock can back on for trail runnin. for powder he puts the can on and takes the rpm loss.

Why doesnt he just clutch it for the aftermarket can? Seems like it would make more sense than changing cans based on what kind of riding he is going to do.

he played with it for a week tryin to get it to rev right. wouldnt do it. put the stock can on for a trail run and tack was perfect.

Good to see another NB'er on here..

yea the lower revs is because most of the aftermarket cans on viper and srxs actually lose a little power.

Did You Get The Trail Or Performace Can? Just Curious...i Just Put The Trail On My Sled And Love It. Just Wondering If The Perfomance Can Is Alot Louder Or What. Of Course You Can't Get Any Db Specs When You Purchase Them, So I Was Nervous Buying The Performance.

Ponds is between Miramichi and Fredericton 1/4 mile off the trail. Can be a busy spot on the weekends for sledders. From Ponds you can go to Mt. Carleton, Miramichi, Fredericton, Chipman.

Exactly!! That's what an RPM loss indicates. Power loss. Believe me I tried almost every can available for the Viper and I lost power. I have another Viper to run against too, so it's fact. Put the can on and go slower, it's guarenteed. Also I never thought any of them sounded that good. I believe it's because the main pipe has those baffles in it. Now the old SX700 triple sounded great even without a can. Actually I have heard the Bender single works OK, but only if you run it into the stock silencer. If your looking for better sound I believe Jerry Fix does a mod to the Viper stock can. Not sure of his $$ though.
