I have my skid all apart for maint. and I noticed this little number. It's part #14 the lower shock mounting bracket. I found out I tore the ears off that part and it started to eat the rail notch and rail brace with it. The welds did not bust but it ripped the metal ears off. I re-welded them but I am not sure it's going to hold. I am almost thinking of buying a new one. Doug

Yup. I busted that about 2 years ago. I think I did it after I landed from catching some air. When it broke it (or the bottom of the shock) was rubbing my the inner side of the track and it shredded the entire length of the track along the inner center. I took the part off and had my dealer weld the ear back onto the shaft (just make sure they weld it so it is perfectly lined up with the ear on the other side), I repainted it, and then reinstalled. I am assuming the bolt also broke off in the shaft like mine did, so I had my dealer get that out as well. I didnt have problems for the rest of the season with the repaired part. I have upgraded to an M-10 since then. But it can be fixed for cheaper than the new part costs. Hope this helps.

Since the part is 140.00 I am going to keep the one I welded and keep my eye on it. I will be riding the new Apex-GT mostly anyway!!! Doug

there is two types one has a groove that slids over the lip on the inside of the rail it will keep the round shaft from turning and breaking off the ear.and one that dosent that comes on 98 skids like a srx would have.i guess it got updated two fix that problem.
