New to the forum - quick question

First off, just wanted to say Hi.

Tom is the name, and I picked up a 1999 SRX 700.

I have searched for info on cleaning the power valves, but there doesn't seem to be 1 single (agreed-upon) method.

Is there a Sticky on this site, or a detailed DIY guide for this?

Also, how frequently should they be cleaned?

Also, I read a little something about a recall on the CRANK? Does this affect all '99's? Was it for a certain batch of sleds, or every SRX?

Any info will be appreciated.

check the tech pages on Totallyamaha.com for the powervalve cleaning. As for the cranks, all 98's were affected, some 99's, and very few 00's. Your dealer should be able to run your serial number and see if yours has been done or not. It's not quite as a big of a "must do" on the 99's unless it is acting up (excessive vibration, low power and top speed, etc). Hope that helps. ;)!
