hey. I went ripping across the field after adjusting my fuel screws, (went from 1 1/2 to 2) and it hit the emergency idle system. You know the one when your throttle is frozen and it won't rev at all. Anyway, it was at 3/4 throttle and did that, almost putting me over the handlebars. Is this a setting of the TPS or is something else wrong. Also when I got home if I hit the throttle too hard it would do that. Help someone!!!

Never mind, I found the problem thanks to this forum. It was the TORS screwing up. I need to replace it, but I just bypassed it for now.

check your throttle cable tension, often that is what is setting off the TORS, not an actual malfunction. Try loosening the throttle cable tension some, and see if that fixes it, usually does.

Yes, it does sound like the T.O.R.S.. I unplugged mine 2500 miles ago with 0 problems.

Its a pretty easy thing to adjust, and I think it is also an important safety feature. I would never recommend for somebody to permanently bypass TORS.

Im not saying that something bad is going to happen to everybody, but you never know when something bad could happen to you.
Why not just set your sled up the way its meant to be. Your sled does have TORS for a reason.

Like they say... they put it there for a reason, but who listens to those guys that build these things anyways

you may not have a problem with the throttle ever sticking, or nobody you know, but for the guy whose throttle does stick when all he had to do was adjust the throttle cable, i pray for him and his family.

Its such an easy thing to adjust that I just cant see why anybody would look past using it.

It is really easy to adjust the t.o.r.s , so dont go buy a new one , But as said above i would just bypass it , you will notice with it bypassed you loss that little burbble when you hit it from a stop and to me its just better for low end tuning to bypass it and leave it that way ..just my opion ...BUT and This is a true story , two years ago a buddy of mine had a SMOKEN HOT polaris , it was older but it was super clean and SUPER fast , had all the goodies on it , We were going on a big weekend trip up to lovells and he had the shop put a new track 144 studs and a new clutch set up on it , well the night before he took it to the power washer and washed it , then left it outside over night with the cover on it , well we drove the 3 1/2 hours up and started to unload the sleds, well he got his sled off the trailer and started to clean out the carbs .................you guessed it , throttle stuck @ wfo with no one on the sled ...it ran like a bat out of hell for about 150 yards until it hit the telephone pole @ about 65 mph then exsploded into about a hundred pieces , if it would have missed the pole it would have gone about 350 yards @ wfo and gone through the the front bay window of the guys next door ....so , for me its a tough choice , have seen what can happen without t.o.r.s., but i still choose to take that chance .......i never have had anybody call me real smart either .......

I have a kill switch that will work fine and if I fall off I have a kill switch hooked on my jacket also. You know like the ones the racers have...the name escapes me now!
