I hope this dont sound to dumb, like i've said i'm new to this snowmobile. Under the hood of my 01 SXR on the left side in front of airbox is a shut-off vavle, like a fuel valve. Well my question is what is it and can ya explain? I thought it was fuel vavle but one end of hose goes to top on manifold, other one goes to the bottom of the left carb. I'm stumped

yeah... it took me awhile on my 2000..but finally figured that they were carb warmers

yes sir you got liquid heated carbs on that monster, keeps them from getting iced up in cold, powdery snow conditions (or when you are following someone and there is a lot of snowdust) Turn it off when temps get over 35 or your performance will be sluggish.

Thanks so much, i knew they had heated carbs, but just thought the water circulated all the time. It is antifreeze that runs thru carb bowls right?
