I just had got my sled back (02 Viper) from getting the 1.25 Camo 9860 track on it. I put on 8 tooth drivers, because I studded it with Extreme Max 1.40 studs which measure 1.75 LOA. I guess I never really looked at how much clearance there was with the stock track and studs, but this still looks close to the front heat exchanger to me. There is about 7/8 of an inch from the tip of the stud to the heat exchanger. That sounds like alot, but it sure doesn't look like alot. Also this track is notched for protectors so I will loose some clearance if the track hits the protectors. I know some guys stud 1.25 tracks with 9 tooth drivers, but I can't believe that works, as close as this looks. Somebody relieve my mind of this issue. Thanks. :o|

I WOULD CONSTANTLY BE CHECKING THE TENSION OF YOUR TRACK, RUNNING IT A LITTLE TIGHTER. NOT A FUN THING TO PUT A STUD THROUGH THE HEAT EXCHANGER. PUTS A DAMPER ON THE TRIP REAL QUICK.
I JUST CHANGE MY TRACK WITH A RIPSAW TRACK I GOT FROM A BUDDY WHO HAD AN RX-1 AND DIDN'T LIKE IT SO i PUT IT ON MY VIPER. I HAVE JUST UNDER 1 1/4" OF CLEARANE BETWEEN STUDS AND EXCHANGER. SORRY I COULDN'T PUT YOUR MIND MORE TO REST.
I WILL BE INTERESTED TO SEE OTHERS POINT OF VIEW.

i ran a ripsaw last year with 1.40" extreme max studs on my viper with 8 tooth drivers. it was sloppy loose for a while and racheted a few times and there isnt a mark anywhere near the front exchanger. the tunnel will get scratched up before anything else. you will be fine!

Well, upon further inspection. The track tension is really loose. So when I get time this weekend, I'll tighten it and see if that gives me the clearance I need. Hope so.

OK I tightened the track. I have right at an inch of clearance between the stud tip and the exchanger. I have 1/4 inch between the track and the protector. The track is notched, so if it hits the protectots, it will have moved 1/4 inch, which should still leave around 3/4 inch clearance from stud tip to the fins of the exchanger.

Anyone know 1) how much will a track balloon at high speed?
2) how much will this new track stretch?

I know tons of poeple have done this, but this dang clearance issue is still weighing on my mind. :o|
