I have an 04 Viper S. Looking for ideas on hand guards. Please post pics if you have installed them. I would like to see what they look like with your color scheme.
:yam:

I have the Powermadd blue and black and they look pretty good. Do a search for handgaurds and you will see several pics of them.

I have been out on the web and I am undecided. I like the Sportech PC Handguards. I was trying to figure out if I wanted to go with the carbon fibre one or the Red Chrome one. There are so many shades of black and red that it is hard to choose. I was hoping that someone had pics that they would be gracious enough to post so that I could see some different models and color schemes of what they picked.

:WayCool:

I think that acerbis and powermadd guards look the best...especially with the rox mounts that wont snap the first time you tip your sled over.

I would go with the powermadd.the sportech are cheaply made.i know everyone like's the chrome colors but they dont hold up.half of them i get new the chrome is cracking already.the powermadd's do come in plain chrome and black chrome or the blue match's yamaha really good.and you can get cool accesories for them like mirror's and extention's.

The red chrome sport tech guards look good, but Rich is right they do not hold up. My boyfriend has the chrome ones on his sled and the chrome has rubbed off!

I have the red and black powermadd's on my viper s ...

there is a pic of the yellow and black powermadd hand guards on my sx in my avitar. i like them. there plyable enough in cold weather so the dont just snap when you tip or roll the sled. (not that i would have any expirience in rolling my sled thats just what i heard ;):D )

Thanks for the input. I guess that answers that, I will look at the PowerMadds and make a decision. I dont' want something that isn't going to last and if the other has accessories, well say no more.

I had the Sportech's, with the blue chrome finish, on my RX1 for two seasons.

The held up perfect. I have an enclosed trailer, so the never had any wear from a cover. When I had an open trailer years ago, I would put a soft blanket underneath the cover.....so the rough canvas would not scuff the paint or windshield.

I would but them again. I think I am going to try Acerbis on my RTX this year. I do not like the looks of the poermadds at all.

Is that the stock windy? and can you turn the handle bars lock to lock with the hand guards on?

yamahagirl, thats a nice vipers! timebomb, sled looks good, and I gont usually care for the yellow and blue, but it looks good :) I am going with powermadds if I get gaurds

Im really not a fan of Sportechs. Ive talked to many people who have them and they all say that Sportechs are kinda flimsy and that they dont hold up very well.
I personally dont care for how they look. Ive always been very pleased with Sportech's Cobra windshields, but Im not impressed by their handguards...
