I have my new RIPSAW track installed in my 2000 SRX . I put 8 tooth Whal brothers drive sprockets ,and a 144 picks.I also have a SIMONS 780 kit . What gear ratio would you run with this combo. I like to play on the hard packed lakes and trail no ice. One last thing the rider (ME) weighs 270. If im missing any info please let me no.

Your stock gearing was 23/38 = 1.65 ratio. 8 tooth drivers turns that into a 1.86 ratio. to get close to that you gotta go 24/37 = 1.74. 70 link chain will work.

I also have a 1.25" track w/192 carbide studs and 8 tooth drivers. Only mods are .010 head plane and clutching. This may sound tall but I run a 25/35 and I weigh 175 w/full gear. I had the clutching done after the gearing. Runs great. Let me know what you think of your 780 kit. I am considering that next year. By the way the 70 link chain still works

I have had the kit for two years now! Im still trying to get this thing sorted out . I had one MAJOR explosion last year, new block, new cylinder, 3 new pistons!!!!. NO ONE can tell me what caused it, INCLUDING SIMONS!!!! Had the sled out one time after rebuild last year . It just seems traction is the problem thats why im going with this new setup.SRXtrafast said:I also have a 1.25" track w/192 carbide studs and 8 tooth drivers.
