81 SRX Questions !

My nephew and I are restoring a stock bore, port and pipe 81 SRX. I found it has a secondary off a 1980 SS440 ? This clutch has no spacers between the sheaves, no A/B/C/D holes for twist and a very long spring. With the secondary off it grinds between the sheaves since they touch each other? The buttons are new, the helix and bushing looks Ok. I have secondaries I could use off of Vmax540's and Phazers. What would you recommend for trail purposes and if you think I can use one of the other clutches what spring,helix,position and twist would you try ? Last the butterflies were junked so, I have 38 roundslides off a 540 any suggestions on where to start with jetting ?
