Okay guys here is my situation. I got my cylinders ported and heads shaved. When i line up for a drag race. This is what happens I hammer it and the rpm's go to a smooth 8400 then they fall flat on their face at 7000-7400 and they wont go any where at all untill I let off the gas and hammer it again then that things flies like a mofo and the rpms go right back up to 8500. I think it is the clutch but it seems like something is holding it back.
I have the sled running rich. I dont think that should have anything to do with it. I also have a gutted air box which is now taped up and has only the stock holes.

I used to experience a serious bog on my srx just after I bought it used from a dealer in Ontario and found out it was rich jetting. I have my heads planed .010 and clutched from Knapps Yamaha in Ontario and no bog. Very crisp. But like you said maybe it isn't jets,could be clutching 
Try tightening up the secondary. been der dun dat exact same thing on my SRX. A little too aggressive clutching that is "just" on the edge will do that.

k i will try that and let you know. But my clutching is stock except i put some riviots in the clutch.
