I have a 98 srx 700 that does not pull on the topend. Checked the powervalves and they were not sticking. Turned down the rpm and the powervalve motor rotated open. The cables were a litte loose so i adjusted them some. It still does not act like it runs like it should on the topend. Also the tach. does not work all the time. Any ideas? Thanks Rich.

What are rpm,s at wide open throttle? could be a toasted primary spring.

if the tach is giving trouble, could be cdi or wiring under motor, my bet would be wiring
The tach does not work all the time so i am not sure of the rpms. I put a new wire harness in last year but that did not fix it. I will try a differnt primary spring. Thanks Rich.

question
does the tach work correctly if the headlight switch is set on low beam? then when you go to high beam you lose the tach?

Does not seem to matter if on hi or low beam. It will sometimes just start working going down the trail.

Rich you have to have the pwowervalves flush with the ports when the servo motor is in the right place did you use the power valve tool tester.
