Hi everybody ! .
On friday I picked up my new sled, 1999 SRX 700 121" 2" .
The right side ski plastic (there is ski-plastic mounted on the skis) is somewhat broken, mising a piece on the side.
I ride pretty much in powder so wider skis are good to have.
On my RX-1 I mounted these skis (ski-plastic).
And they made it float much better. My question is if the skis on the SRX are the same as the ones on the RX-1?. The ski plastic I bought for the RX-1 was really cheap and I got them from a dealer near by so I hope that the same skies might fit on the SRX?.
I think they look somewhat the same.. ? Or?.

Just so you know, that sled has a 136" extension.
Haha sorry writing error. I get confused when I have to convert evertything into inches. Normally I would say 345/51mm .

if they fit the rx1 they will fit the srx. they will lower the front a little though.
.
N2oiroc, hmm are you sure didn`t misunderstand?. I just wondered what you ment when you said that they will lower the front a little.
Remember that I am only speaking of ski plastic (or plastic skins as they are called in US?) that I am going to mount outside the stock plastic ski. I did it on my RX-1 and it worked great. The only bad thing is that the bolts for the steering iron get`s a little short so the best is to extend them a little.
Does anyone know if RX-1 ski skins fits on an SRX ?.

Who's the manufacture of those ski skins?
Hmm as far as I know they are Yamaha skis!.
I got them from my Yamaha dealer, back in those days I found them in the 2005 Yamaha Accessories Catalog, I have the catalog here right now and I bet they are still in production. The part number is ACC.50010.RX and the text sais "RX-1MMn WIDE" .
Am I wrong if I say that I think that all Yamaha plastic skies "mainly" have the same shape?. I think I will order the wide RX-1 plastic skins for my SRX, I bet they will fit since they both have plastic skis. The only thing that could "not" fit is the length, but I`m sure it`s long enough.

they are completely different skis, shape, saddle, everything.
Hmm now I`m confused.
So, ski skins for the RX-1 will not fit the SRX ?.
I`m not speaking of "correct fitment" but if it is possible to get them mounted. I looked under my SRX skis and the shape looks alot like the RX-1.
Gees I`m so stupid, why didn`t I just take the skins off the RX-1 before I sold it..

kimoaj, If this helps, I have 05 RX1 skis on my SRX.
I measured them along the outer edge, from rear to tip & they are 42in long
and 5.3/4in wide.

OK SRX MAINE thanks alot for the measuring! . Now I can go out and compare those measurments with my SRX skis. How is the ski shaped underneath?. Like, flat with a "bumb" on the middle?.
Skins used on steel skis are more "flat overall" and the skins used on plastic skis are flat on the sides and have this pump on the middle. Am I wrong or ?. (I`m speaking of stock Yamaha skis ofcourse).
I think I will call my dealer and order plastic skins for the RX-1. Those wide skins does magic in the powder.
