Help Temp Light ???? SRX

My buddies 2000 SRX temp light comes on at startup and stays on. It has plenty of coolant. This happens even when the engine is cold. Last season we pulled the wiring harness and fixed the rubbing problem on the harness.

Any suggestions guys????

I had a viper that had a BAD PLUG on the coolant temp sensor... Turned on the light when it was cold... i went to Yamaha dealer in Eagle river wisconsin (heckels) and they sold me the new plug for a few bucks.. i wired it together and it works FINE!!!! Gary Oles nosboy
