I am new to this 4 stoke thing I have a 2006 vector nountain and I am wondering about when you let off the gas it slows down real quick is this normal for a four stoke?

Yes, those 4 strokes have ALOT of engine braking.

yup shortstop is right, engine braking is the cause, perfectly normal. Can be reduced with different clutching if it is an annoyance, personally i think it is a good thing, less wear on the brakes, like a jake brake on my Mack
