Anybody done this mod with success?? Is this adviseable or not? Can the mod be done by itself or do you have to install the longer radius rods to allow full front suspension drop out? Any additional hardware needed? Spacers? Thanks in advance.

PS. I have an M-10 in the rear and am looking to get a little higher ride height up front to balance out the sled a little better.

I just did this mod on my SRX & it added 1.1/4 of ride height. You have to flip them & reverse them from right to left.
You will have to do a little grinding to the bracket for shock clearance.
Also, you will have to add a washer behind the bracket on the lower bolt.
IMHO, I think it works great & the price is right. FREE.
The drop is not enough to require longer rods, but you will have to reset your camber.
You might find this interesting too My Sled Lift

Hmm I got the brackets from the guy off ebay. I didn't even think of changing the camber. I have a 99 SRX...Do you know what the camber should be?

Thanx SRX Maine. I will give it a shot over the weekend. Just for reference, do you happen to know the size (thickness of the washer/spacer) you used underneath the shock mount braquets? I am assuming I'll just have to grind off the bottom inside corner of each braquet to allow clearace for the metal braquet that houses the large, black, rubber boot? Thanks.

I just needed to do a little bit of grinding in two places on each bracket where there were interferences, and also flatten a small flange that is connected to the bulkhead. Didnt need to add any extra parts or washers. This free mod really helped in balancing the sled after adding long travel shocks, also increases clearance in the front.

The washer I used was about an 1/8in thick.
I also did all my grinding to make the bracket fit the sled first
then installed the shock for reference / shock interference, marked it.
then took it back out & ground off what I needed.

I only used the washer behind the lower bolt, because the two
bolt hole locations are not really parallel to each other (looking from the front)
, but you could also do it like SRX6 did.

Either way, it's pretty easy once you get started.

not sure if the spacing of 1.25'' (when you flip the bracket) is suffient to get the track to be level on flat ground, have to suck up the limiters to get it level , i made custom brackets at work that give it a 2.25" inch raise in the front, looks level and you can leave the limiter straps alone. I would go with the guy off ebay or find a sheet metal shop that can make u a set. just some thoughts. ITS YOUR CALL!

good luck

Blue Lightning has a good point!
Mine works fine with the Viper long travel
but might not be enough with M-10 like you have

There is a company that sells an adjustable front
shock bracket for the SRX, I just can't think of it...anyone?

i think hauck sells them that are adjustable, but like srx maine says the flip and grind method will work fine for viper set up.

wandering about ski stance after flipping brackets

Since I have read the above and have done the flip the bracket and switch side thing, but the trailing arms are still being painted and can't hook things up yet...radius rods will angle down a bit and was wandering if the ski stance would change by an amount.
