I have a 94' vmax 500, and I am on my second "Y" pipe in about 1000 miles. Appearantly my springs are not holding my exhaust tight enough the the "Y" pipe. The flange that is on a 94' "Y" pipe keeps getting seared off do to vibration. Is there any reasons why I can not use a 95' vmax "Y" pipe, so the donut will wear out instead of my "Y" pipe. I'm up for suggestions to correct this issue.

I had two older sleds that cracked their exhaust due to too much vibration. Both of them had primay clutches that had come apart.
viperlover has a 96 500 exhaust for sale.

If you could find a '96 xt system that would be cool because they redesignd
it for more flow(HP) but you would have to rejet then.

I installed a 96 Single pipe on my 94 and the carbs from a 96 also. Really woke it up alot. I talked to your freind jim. To install the pipe I had to shorten the pipe support bracket due to larger diameter pipe. Also put in boyeson reeds and 95 head gasket. All parts were bought from TY'ers vmax4rules sells nice stuff.

The 96 500 XT exhaust won't get you any more ponies since it is the same basic pipe size as a 94 500/600. But a 96 600 XT pipe would, it is larger.

there was a kit to fit that problem look in the 95 tech update book, but I doubt that it is available, you need to change the Y pipe as well as weld a new flange on the pipe, Your best bet is to find 95/96 parts and put them on.

I've seen that fit kit your talking about, their $40.00 then $20.00 for the donut. Used ypipe should be about the same.

That 96' 600xt you saw parting out was it viperlover?
If so he is selling the ypipe with the engine.

Thanks for the Info.

I don't know whos selling it but I you look its a 96 XT that would be the good parts and its a 500, tell him to take the Y Pipe off the engine

Already asked he's selling it all together.

Just found one however for $40.00
from a place in Midland, Mi called 'Mickeys Sleds & More' Mickey seemed pretty cool. Shipping cost $10.00......Gas would have cost me $30.00

Thx
