Guys, the sled is a 2001 venture 600. My question is when I close the cowl the cables lay on the exhaust. I dont think this is correct? There is one cable about 3 feet long looped and attached to the cowl then there is a small spring with another cable attached to the cable that is looped and then it is attached to the exhaust manifold. Is this correct? does anyone have a picture of the correct set up if mine is wrong? Thanks

That's the correct set-up. The larger cable that holds the hood from flying open attaches to the middle exhaust manifold. The spring attaches to that cable and to a bracket near the hood hinge. This spring pulls on the cable when you close the hood to keep it from laying on the exhaust, however they all usually do anyway. Mine did on the SRX and the Vmax I have. You can tell because it leaves a wear mark.
