PTO melt down!! HELP PLEASE

Can any one give me some thing to check out on why this melt down happened. the sled is a 99 srx totally stock with a bender can. Just got Home from UP and pulled the heads found pto melted around the edges of pistion have good piston wash on the other pistion. Sled has 7600 miles on it.

Check your main jets for pluged ,check for vacuum leak at crank seal ,checkcarb boots for cracks .Check for exhaust leak. I can't think of any thiong else right now .Wellcome to the club I melted my ptro sibe for the second time this year .Only took about 10 miles .

This might be a dumb question, but how will a exhaust leak cause the cylinder to melt down?

Yes he did have a bad exhaust gasket when took it apart. this sed is my best freinds.

I would still check the other things I told you especialy the crank seal .
