I have a 99 SRX 600 with the stock track and 144 picks, the only mod it really has is a bender can (which i might end up taking off).

The problem is, i have no traction... the track spins like nobody's business when i get on it. I'm a light rider (165lbs), so i was figuring there might not be enough rearward weight on the sled. Adjustable transfer rods should fix this right?

Assuming that it's not the weight issue, what's a good setup to get maximum traction without having to dig too deep into the sled? I'm mostly concerned with hole-shot speed, so if i lose a couple mph top end, that's fine, as long as it's not excessive.

I should also add... what is the best order to install this stuff? I'm on a budget and might be buying one at a time, so which should i get first, second, etc?

Thanks in advance, I'd really like to get this thing setup before the season gets underway.

I have a 98 SRX 700. I also have no traction. I went with the adjustable control rods and still found that I couldn't get any traction. From what I have heard it is very hard to get the 98-99 models to hook up. In 2000 they made some adustments to the rear suspension which help out with this problem. The control rods have a different mount location which helps the suspension transfer weight. I was considering relocating the mount postion of the control rods to match the 00-02 models. Someone on here may know the difference in measurment of the mount locations.

the stock track is horrible, get a 9830 or hacksaw under it with 168-192 studs and let her rip. Also transfer rods help a TON, and tightening the center shock and letting out the limiters will transfer weight better as well.

move the transfer rods bottom mounts ahead around 2 inches and it will transfer alot better.try getting the shorter transfer rods and install them on the top axle put the skid back in than drill the rails were the bottom bolts would go.just make shure you are at full transfer so you have lots of adjustment before drilling, and have the sled on the ground with no wieght.
